RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE SECOND AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENTS WITH (1) CHILD CARE COORDINATING COUNCIL (4Cs) AND (2) PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (PACE), TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE STAGE 2 CHILD CARE AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, THE TERMS REMAIN THE SAME, JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011, INCREASING THE AMOUNTS BY $193,603; 4Cs WILL INCREASE BY $135,522 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $3,418,404 AND PACE WILL INCREASE BY $58,081 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $1,465,031 FOR FY 2009-10, FUNDING FOR FY 2010-11 WILL BE ADDED IN THE FORM OF AMENDMENTS WHEN FUNDING IS ALLOCATED BY THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (CDE), THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo receives yearly allocations from the CDE to administer Stage 2 child care and child development services through the 4Cs and PACE who are the specified Contractors for such services; and

WHEREAS, on July 22, 2008, the Board of Supervisor adopted Resolution Number 069583 waiving the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, authorizing the Stage 2 child care and child development services in the amount $2,850,000 for Fiscal Year 2008-09 only, and authorizing the Director of the Human Services Agency to execute subsequent amendments and minor modification not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 and to make minor changes in the types of services and activities provided under the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, on August 4, 2009, the Board of Supervisor adopted Resolution Number 070322, authorizing Amendments to the Agreements for Stage 2 child care and child development services in the amount $1,839,832 for Fiscal Year 2009-10 only; and

WHEREAS, the parties wish to further amend the Agreements to provide additional funding for Stage 2 child care and child development services for Fiscal Year 2009-10, in the amount of $135,522 for 4Cs, and $58,081 for PACE for the total of $193,603 for FY 2009-10, with funding for Fiscal Year 2010-11, to be added in the form of amendments as allocated by CDE; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Second Amendments to the Agreements and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendments for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
