BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE:

A.

PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ALLIED BARTON SECURITY SERVICES FOR SECURITY SERVICES AT ALL 17 COUNTY AND COURT FACILITIES, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $8,561,320, WHICH INCLUDES A 2% CONTINGENCY FACTOR, AND A THREE-YEAR TERM COMMENCING JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013; AND

B.

SHERIFF OR SHERIFF’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000 AND/OR MODIFY THE AGREEMENT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there exists a need within the County of San Mateo for the provision of security services at various County facilities and service locations; and

WHEREAS, agents of San Mateo County did, in light of said requirements, conduct an extensive Request for Proposals (RFP) process, and have selected through that process and recommended to this Board an independent contractor, Allied Barton Security Services, to be the provider of said services; and

WHEREAS, this Board finds that it is necessary and desirable that an Agreement be executed with Allied Barton Security Services, for an amount not to exceed $8,561,320, which includes a two percent contingency not to be used without prior County approval, for a three-year term commencing July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013, with the option to extend for an additional two years by further amendment if desired and agreed to by both parties; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of said Agreement, and has examined and approved it as to both form and content, and desires to enter into the Agreement:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the:

A.

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement between the County of San Mateo and Allied Barton Security Services, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B.

Sheriff or Sheriff’s designee is hereby authorized to execute amendments or modifications to the terms, scope and conditions up to the standard contract amount, so long as the modified term or service(s) is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
