RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2010 CALIFORNIA COASTAL TRAIL PLAN FOR THE SAN MATEO MIDCOAST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, completion of a tunnel to replace the section of Highway 1 between the midcoast and the Town of Pacifica is expected in 2013; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors approved the 2007 Midcoast Action Plan for Parks and Recreation (Midcoast Plan); and

WHEREAS, the Midcoast Plan identified the need to plan and complete the remaining uncompleted segments of the California Coastal Trail (CCT) from Half Moon Bay north to Devil’s Slide; and

WHEREAS, the Midcoast Park and Recreation Committee, a local citizens committee to advise County Parks, has developed and vetted a plan for completing the CCT on the Midcoast.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes acceptance of the 2010 California Coastal Trail Plan for the San Mateo County Midcoast, and encourages continued leadership by the Midcoast Park and Recreation Committee in support of County Parks to implement said plan.
