THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

 

BAYSHORE AMBULANCE

Upon the celebration of its 20th Anniversary

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

 

WHEREAS, BAYSHORE AMBULANCE is locally owned and operated by twin brothers, Bill and Dave Bockholt, who after ten years of working as ambulance medics in San Mateo began their own ambulance service on June 25, 1990; and

   
 

WHEREAS, Bill and Dave Bockholt started BAYSHORE AMBULANCE with a popular Cadillac from the 1970’s for non-emergency transports and, by 1992 had three beautifully-restored Miller Meteor Cadillac ambulances in their fleet; and

   
 

WHEREAS, Bill and Dave Bockholt dynamically expanded BAYSHORE AMBULANCE by adding Wheelchair Transportation in 1994, buying their own building in Foster City in 1995; including Critical Care Transport to their services in 1998 and purchasing from the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics the first Sprinter ambulance to be used in California; and

 

 

WHEREAS, BAYSHORE AMBULANCE currently has 13 ambulances in service, eight wheelchair vans and 1 large wheelchair accessible van for group outings and provides professional, compassionate and quality service to the community with the help of over 80 dedicated employees, including certified Emergency Medical Technicians and Registered Nurses; and

   
 

WHEREAS, in May of 2010, BAYSHORE AMBULANCE was presented with the prestigious Jefferson Award for Bill and Dave Bockholt’s generosity as “Unsung Heroes” in donating high-mileage, but highly-functional ambulances for service in Haiti, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Eritrea and for their many hours of community service as well as their support and encouragement of volunteerism by their employees in Haiti and locally,

   
 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends Bill and Dave Bockholt of BAYSHORE AMBULANCE for their leadership, dedication and commitment to the community of San Mateo County and wishes them all the best on the 20th anniversary of their company and in the years ahead.
