RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING CONTRACT WITH THE VICTIM COMPENSATION AND GOVERNMENT CLAIMS BOARD EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE RESTITUTION PROGRAM FOR AN ADDITIONAL $78,011 FOR FY 2010-2011 THEREBY INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT TO $156,022

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board has agreed to fund positions in the District Attorney’s Offices throughout the State of California to ensure that restitution fines and court orders are properly administered in accordance with applicable statutes; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1997, the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board submitted a contract to the San Mateo County District Attorney to establish a Restitution Program to be administered by the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board and said contract was approved by Resolution No. 61670 and has been renewed by this Board every year since that time; and

 

WHEREAS, the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board and the San Mateo District Attorney desire to extend said contract for the FY 2010-2011 and to continue the Restitution Program for such time period through funds made available through the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board; and

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the District Attorney of the County of San Mateo, on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, is authorized to submit this contract Amendment to the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, and is authorized to execute the Amendment including any extensions or amendments thereof which do not require commitment of County funds.
