RESOLUTION: (A) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (CRWC) AND REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT (RWCSD) TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR FY 2010-11 FOR OPERATIONAL COST FOR THE REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS (RWCCS), EXTENDING THE TERM FOR ONE YEAR TO JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $113,676 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $341,028; $113,676 IS NET COUNTY COST; AND (B) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES AS LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on September 16, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved an Agreement with the City of Redwood City (CRWC) and Redwood City School District (RWCSD), by Resolution Number 069694, authorizing funding support for Redwood City Community Schools in the amount of $113,676 for FY 2008-09, for the term of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, on October 20, 2009, the Board of Supervisor approved an Amendment to the Agreement, Amendment Number 070440, this Amendment added $113,676, increasing the total obligation to $227,352, and the term remained the same, July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, this Second Amendment adds $113,676, increasing the total obligation to $341,028, and the term is extended by one year to July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is being asked to authorize the Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or service is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Second Amendment and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A) The President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B) The Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee shall be authorized to execute amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
