RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTED AN AGREEMENT WITH DATA SYSTEMS GROUP (DSG) FOR THE LICENSING, MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF INSURANCE CLAIMS EDITING SOFTWARE, FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2012, IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $259,416; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER OR HIS DESIGNEE OR THE CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR HER DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE) AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) currently uses insurance claims editing software provided by Data Systems Group (DSG) to interface with SMMC’s patient registration and billing system (Invision) to help with electronic remittance processing and to assist with insurance billing compliance; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with DSG, for the licensing, maintenance and support of insurance claims editing software; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into the Agreement for DSG to provide the licensing, maintenance and support of insurance claims editing software for a term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $259,416; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been requested to grant signature authority to the Chief Information Officer or his designee or the Chief of the Health System or her designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate) and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement, has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors is authorized to execute an Agreement with DSG to provide the licensing, maintenance and support of insurance claims editing software for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that signature authority is granted to the Chief Information Officer or his designee or the Chief of the Health System or her designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate) and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
