RECOMMENDATION:
|
Approve the appointment of Michael Schocket to the Workforce Investment Board (WIB), to a term expiring June 30, 2012.
|

BACKGROUND:
|
The mission of the Workforce Investment Board of San Mateo County is to establish and oversee the implementation of policies which promotes an integrated and innovative workforce development system. The WIB Board of Directors approved the application for Michael Schocket at the May 20, 2010 WIB meeting.
|
|
|
DISCUSSION:
|
Mr. Michael Schocket is the Director of Caminor Jobs Plus. He has extensive experience running an employment program for people with disabilities. His leadership has help provide job placement for over 100 people with disabilities. His experience will help the WIB to develop partnerships with businesses in promoting hiring people with disabilities.
This appointment will be representing private business in the County.
