RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE: 1) PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH MAX C. WOO AND LINDA BASS WOO, TRUSTEES OF THE WOO FAMILY REVOCABLE TRUST U/T/D DECEMBER 17, 2009, OF 4,944 SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE SPACE AT 3130 LA SELVA DRIVE, SAN MATEO, FOR A TERM OF FIVE YEARS, FROM JULY 13, 2010 TO JUNE 30, 2015 WITH ONE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR ONE ADDITIONAL TERM OF FIVE YEARS, AT AN INITIAL BASE RENT OF $8,652.00 PER MONTH, AND 2) COUNTY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE NOTICES, OPTIONS AND DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LEASE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EXTENSION OR TERMINATION OF THE LEASE UNDER THE TERMS SET FORTH THEREIN. (LEASE NO. 1263)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, since 1992, the County has occupied approximately 4,944 rentable square feet of general office space at 3130 La Selva Drive, San Mateo, for the use of the Sheriff’s Office; and

 

WHEREAS, the County has occupied the premises on a month to month basis since January 2010 in accordance with the holdover provision of the existing lease; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a Lease Agreement for a term of five years with one option to extend for an additional five years, at an initial base rent of $8,652.00 per month. The Landlord will make improvements to the building and premises to comply with requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act as identified in a survey completed by the County’s ADA Compliance Committee; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Lease Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Lease Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

 

IT IS FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the County Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to accept or execute on behalf of the County, any and all notices, options and documents associated with the Lease including, but not limited to, extension or termination of the Lease under the terms set forth therein.
