BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE: A) PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH TRIAGE CONSULTING GROUP TO PROVIDE AGED ACCOUNT RECEIVABLE AND ZERO BALANCE PAYMENT REVIEW SERVICES TO SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER FOR THE TERM AUGUST 1, 2010 THROUGH JULY 31, 2013 FOR A MAXIMUM OBLIGATION OF $2,000,000; AND B) CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) has continually written-off denied claims resulting in loss of net revenue; and

 

WHEREAS, in May 2010 a Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued for paid

claim reviews, and two responses were received; and

 

WHEREAS, Triage Consulting Group (Triage) was selected by the RFP

evaluation committee based on references, experience in paid claims review and

ability to work on-site; and

 

WHEREAS, both the County and Triage wish to enter into an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Triage will provide aged account receivable and zero balance payment review services for the term August 1, 2010 through July 31, 2013, for a total maximum fiscal obligation of $2,000,000, with Triage being paid primarily on a contingency basis as outlined in the Agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of the Health System or designee is authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
