BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A) THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH PUENTE DE LA COSTA SUR TO PROVIDE CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES FOR THE TERM OF UPON EXECUTION THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, IN AN AMOUNT OF $285,000 OF WHICH THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST; AND B) THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY (HSA) OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency provides administrative support to the Children’s Collaborative Action Team (CCAT) and in March 2010, conducted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention and Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) Programs, and Puente de la Costa Sur is one of the eight Contractors that was selected for funding under the RFP; and

 

WHEREAS, the ultimate goal of the programs and services is to provide assistance to at-risk families before children are abused and neglected in order to support the stabilization of families and maintenance of children in their homes; and

 

WHEREAS, the Contractor will provide culturally-sensitive child abuse prevention and intervention services through the Parents Involvement Program at five schools in unincorporated areas of Pescadero, La Honda, San Gregorio and Loma Mar and services will include parent education; coordination of presentation in English and Spanish to raise awareness of the risk factors for and indicators of child abuse; legal reporting requirements; referral procedures; one-on-one or family counseling; support groups for adolescents and crisis intervention for students, teachers and principals; and

 

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency wishes to enter into an Agreement in the amount of $285,000 for the term of upon execution through June 30, 2013 and;

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is being asked to authorize the Director’s Designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A) The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B) The Director of Human Services Agency or the Director’s Designee is authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
