RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY (CAL FIRE) TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2009 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2012, FOR A TOTAL COUNTY’S FISCAL OBLIGATION OF $21,900,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with the California Department of Forestry (CAL FIRE), whereby CAL FIRE will continue to provide fire protection services for the County; and

WHEREAS, the County’s maximum fiscal obligation under the Agreement is an amount not to exceed $21,900,000 for the term of July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2012, which includes an amount of $7,279,678 for services performed in anticipation of this Agreement for FY 09/10; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of said Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on the behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest to the President’s signature thereto.
