RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE THIRD AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENTS WITH (1) CHILD CARE COORDINATING COUNCIL (4Cs) AND (2) PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (PACE), TO ADD THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (CDE) ALLOCATIONS FOR FY 2010-11, THE TERMS REMAIN THE SAME, JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011, INCREASING THE AMOUNTS BY $1,127,859; 4Cs WILL INCREASE BY $789,501 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $4,207,905 AND PACE WILL INCREASE BY $338,358 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $1,803,389 FOR FY 2010-11, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo receives yearly allocations from the CDE to administer Stage 2 child care and child development services through the 4Cs and PACE who are the specified Contractors for such services; and

WHEREAS, on July 22, 2008, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 069583 waiving the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, authorizing the Stage 2 child care and child development services in the amount $2,850,000 for Fiscal Year 2008-09, and authorizing the Director of the Human Services Agency to execute subsequent amendments and minor modification not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 and to make minor changes in the types of services and activities provided under the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, on August 4, 2009, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 070322, authorizing Amendments to the Agreements for Stage 2 child care and child development services in the amount $1,839,832 for Fiscal Year 2009-10; and

WHEREAS, on June 8, 2010, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 070845, authorizing Second Amendments to the Agreements for Stage 2 child care and child development services to add the remaining allocation in the amount $193,603 for Fiscal Year 2009-10; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to further amend the Agreements to provide the allocations of funding for Stage 2 child care and child development services for Fiscal Year 2010-11, in the amount of $789,501 for 4Cs, and $338,358 for PACE for a total of $1,127,859; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Third Amendments to the Agreements and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Third Amendments for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
