RESOLUTION: 1) WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PROCESS; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA YMCA C/O YMCA OF SAN FRANCISCO YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU TO PROVIDE DIVERSION SERVICES AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO DETENTION FOR YOUTH ON PROBATION FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2009 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010 FOR A MAXIMUM OF $121,918

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Probation Department has been contracting with the Peninsula YMCA to provide diversion services for youth residing in several cities since 1998; and

WHEREAS, it is essential to contract with the Peninsula YMCA in the amount of for further diversion services; and

WHEREAS, the Probation Department wishes to contract with the Peninsula YMCA in the amount of $121,918 for the term of July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010 for diversion services; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the RFP process as the services have already been delivered; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

1) The Request for Proposal Process is waived; and

2) The President of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for an on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
