RECOMMENDATION:
|
Approve the appointments of Linda Asbury and Kenneth San Filippo to the Workforce Investment Board (WIB), each to a two-year term expiring June 30, 2012.
|

BACKGROUND:
|
The mission of the Workforce Investment Board of San Mateo County is to establish and oversee the implementation of policies which promotes an integrated and innovative workforce development system. The WIB Board of Directors approved the applications for Linda Asbury and Kenneth San Filippo at the July 16, 2010 WIB meeting.

DISCUSSION:
|
Linda Asbury is the President/CEO of San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Asbury will replace Don Eagleston and will represent the private sector.
|
|
|
Kenneth San Filippo is the Regional Occupational Program Administrator with the County of San Mateo Office of Education. Mr. San Filippo will replace Karen Philip and will represent the public sector.
