RESOLUTION FIXING THE RATES OF COUNTY AND DISTRICT TAXES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010-2011

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, since the passage of Proposition 13, the County is required to set tax rates for general obligation bonds approved by the voters for taxing jurisdictions within the County; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 29100, the Board is required to adopt by resolution the rates of taxes on the secured roll by the first business day of September or by October 3rd, if the Board has previously passed a resolution extending the deadline; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board previously passed Resolution No. 66266 extending the County’s deadline to adopting the rates of taxes on the secured roll; and

 

WHEREAS, the Controller has calculated the tax rates for Fiscal Year 2010-2011 based on a net assessed valuation of $133,195,073,410; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2010-2011 tax rates are set forth in the attached schedules for adoption by the Board; and

 

WHEREAS, if the tax rates are not set, the taxing jurisdictions will not be able to meet their required debt service requirement;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED

that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, does hereby fix the rates of County and Districts Taxes, in the number of cents levied for each fund upon $100 of assessed valuation of the taxable property of San Mateo County for the fiscal year 2010-2011, in the sums and items and amounts as particularly set forth in the papers attached hereto and marked as Exhibit “A”, and Schedule 18 and 18A.
