BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION:
1. REJECTING THE BIDS RECEIVED ON JULY 27, 2010 FOR THE PESCADERO LANDFILL CLOSURE PROJECT; AND 2.  AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO RE-ADVERTISE THE PROJECT FOR BIDS IN THE SPRING OF 2011

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on June 29, 2010, adopt Resolution No. 070916, which resolution adopted the plans and specifications, including conformance with prevailing wage scale requirements and calling for sealed proposals for the Pescadero Landfill Closure Project; and

WHEREAS, the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors did, in public on July 27, 2010, open and examine all sealed bids that were received in the specified time for the doing of the work referred to in said Resolution No. 070916; and

WHEREAS, the Notice to Contractors Section of the specifications states that the County of San Mateo reserves the right to reject any or all bids received; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has reviewed said bids and recommends that the bids be rejected and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to re-advertise the project for bids in Spring of 2011; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

1.

The bids received on July 27, 2010 are hereby rejected.

2.

The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to re-advertise the project for bids in the Spring of 2011.
