BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION:

1.

WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) PROCESS;

2.

AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SERVICE LEAGUE OF SAN MATEO COUNTY FOR INMATE SERVICES WITHIN THE COUNTY’S CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $625,405, FOR A ONE (1) YEAR TERM COMMENCING JULY 1, 2010 TO JUNE 30, 2011; AND

3.

AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF OR SHERIFF’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000 AND/OR MODIFY THE AGREEMENT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the Service League of San Mateo County shall provide inmate services within the County’s correctional facilities; and

WHEREAS, the Service League of San Mateo County Office has been providing services to inmates in the County’s correctional facilities since 1989; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposals process because the Service League of San Mateo County is the sole cost-effective source of the type of inmate services that it provides; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement, to provide inmate services within the County’s correctional facilities, for an amount not to exceed $625,405, and for a one (1) year term commencing July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the:

1.

Request for Proposals process is waived;

2.

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Agreement with the Service League of San Mateo County, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

3.

Sheriff or Sheriff’s designee is hereby authorized to execute amendments and minor modifications to this Agreement not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000, and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
