BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE: A) PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH WEBMEDX, INC. FOR MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES AT SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER FOR THE TERM OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2012, FOR A MAXIMUM OBLIGATION OF $800,000; AND B) CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, transcribed reports provide for the availability of health information through San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), supporting information continuity and quality of patient care; and

 

WHEREAS, in May 2010 SMMC conducted a Request for Proposals (RFP) process for transcription services and twenty proposals were received; and

 

WHEREAS, given SMMC’s current plans to implement an inpatient electronic medical record, Webmedx, Inc. (Webmedx) was chosen by the RFP evaluation committee; and

 

WHEREAS, both the County and Webmedx wish to enter into an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Webmedx shall provide medical transcription services for the term September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2012, in the amount of $800,000; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of the Health System or designee is authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
