RESOLUTION: A) APPROVING THE SAN MATEO COUNTY IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM INTEGRITY AND FRAUD INVESTIGATIONS PLAN; B) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE THE SUBMISSION OF THE PLAN; AND C) AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF THE PLAN TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
|
|
WHEREAS, the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program provides services that assist Medi-Cal eligible aged, blind or disabled individuals, including children, to remain safely in their own homes; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has allocated funding for enhancement of integrity and fraud prevention services in the IHSS program, contingent upon submission of a plan to CDSS and its approval; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the San Mateo County IHSS Program Integrity and Fraud Investigation Plan (Plan) demonstrates how a collaboration of efforts with the Health System, Human Services Agency, the District Attorney’s Office, County Counsel and a community partner will enhance the integrity of the IHSS program; and
|
|
WHEREAS, funding is a combination of State and federal funds in the amount of $259,790 and requires a County match of $46,786 for a total of $306,576 for the term July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

|
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the submission of the Plan is approved and the President of the Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute and approve the submission of said Plan to CDSS for and on behalf of County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
