BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 1) PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A LEASE CONCESSION AGREEMENT WITH BAY AREA EQUESTRIAN CONNECTION, LLC, FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF THE FOLGER STABLE FACILITY IN WUNDERLICH PARK IN WOODSIDE FOR THE TERM OF OCTOBER 1, 2010 THROUGH NOVEMBER 30, 2013 WITH AN OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO ADDITIONAL THREE-YEAR TERMS FOR AN INITIAL MONTHLY RENT OF $2,250; AND 2) COUNTY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE NOTICES AND DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LEASE CONCESSION AGREEMENT INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EXTENSION OR TERMINATION OF THE AGREEMENT UNDER THE TERMS SET FORTH THEREIN

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to enter into a Lease Concession Agreement for a term of three-years, with two options to extend the term for an additional three years each, for the purpose of providing public boarding and equestrian services; and

 

WHEREAS, this Lease Concession Agreement will increase fee revenue from $13,500 to $27,000 annually and will provide $9,000 annually for educational programs; and

WHEREAS, this Lease Concession Agreement supports the commitment to the recently completed public private venture to renovate Folger Stable for public boarding, equestrian activities, and education; and.

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Leasee desire to enter into a Lease Agreement for the operations and maintenance of the Folger Stable at Wunderlich Park in Woodside.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Lease Concession Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

 

IT IS FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the County Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to accept or execute on behalf of the County, any and all written notices, options, consents, approvals and documents in connection with the Lease Concession Agreement including, but not limited to, extension or termination of the agreement under the terms set forth therein.
