RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

OFFICER CARLOS BASURTO

As the recipient of the 2010 Barbara Hammerman Award

WHEREAS, on this 19^th day of October, two thousand and ten, OFFICER CARLOS BASURTO is honored for his dedication and exemplary service to victims of domestic violence through his tireless efforts as a law enforcement officer; and

WHEREAS, OFFICER CARLOS BASURTO has put forth extraordinary efforts as a law enforcement office in order to assist domestic violence victims, and has been recognized for his caring approach to victims and his commitment to investigating of batterers; and

WHEREAS, OFFICER CARLOS BASURTO has been commended by his colleagues for his tenacity and resolve in domestic violence cases, and for his compassion and dedication to domestic violence victims in numerous cases, and for demonstrating the character and commitment that embodies the Barbara Hammerman Domestic Violence Law Enforcement Award; and

WHEREAS, OFFICER CARLOS BASURTO has demonstrated exemplary leadership in the continuing effort to reduce the occurrence of domestic violence and assist the survivors of domestic violence crimes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on October 19, 2010, hereby expresses congratulations and sincere gratitude to OFFICER CARLOS BASURTO as the recipient of the BARBARA HAMMERMAN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LAW ENFORCEMENT AWARD for his dedication and service to victims of domestic violence.
