RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A) THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH CABRILLO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT TO PROVIDE CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, IN THE AMOUNT OF $285,000 OF WHICH THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST; AND B) THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY (HSA) OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency provides administrative support to the Children’s Collaborative Action Team (CCAT) and in March 2010, conducted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention and Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) Programs, and the Cabrillo Unified School District is one of the eight Contractors that was selected for funding under the RFP; and

WHEREAS, the ultimate goal of the programs and services is to provide assistance to at-risk families before children are abused and neglected in order to support the stabilization of families and maintenance of children in their homes; and

WHEREAS, the Contractor will provide therapy and a referral system to children and families who are struggling or are in crisis and are not able to access any

other services in order to improve their functioning in the family, community and school; and

WHEREAS, the Contractor will also provide intake, assessment, referral, individual, group and family counseling to school age (five to thirteen years old) children and families who do not qualify for any other counseling services; and

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency wishes to enter into an Agreement in the amount of $285,000 for the term of July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2013 and;

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is being asked to authorize the Director of Human Services Agency or the Director’s Designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A) The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B) The Director of Human Services Agency or the Director’s Designee is authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
