RESOLUTION: 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH YOUTH AND FAMILY ENRICHMENT SERVICES (YFES) TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL, GROUP, AND FAMILY COUNSELING FOR YOUTH AT THE MARGARET J. KEMP CAMP (CAMP KEMP) AND IN CAMP KEMP AFTERCARE FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013 FOR A MAXIMUM OF $750,000; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF PROBATION OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS THAT MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Probation Department has been contracting with YFES for the purposes of providing mental health services to girls at Camp Kemp and on Camp Kemp probation aftercare since 2006; and

WHEREAS, the Probation Department chose YFES to provide these services through a Request for Proposals process conducted in spring of 2010; and

WHEREAS, the Probation Department wishes to contract with YFES in the amount of $750,000 for the term of July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2013; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of this Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A) The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B) The Chief of Probation or his designee is authorized to execute contract amendments that modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
