RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE “ON CALL” STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING CONSULTING AGREEMENT WITH CROSBY GROUP, TO INCREASE THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY $300,000, FOR A NEW TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $600,000, AND EXTEND THE AGREEMENT TERM TO JUNE 30, 2012.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo is authorized to engage the services of professional technical experts; and

WHEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will be served by selecting and using qualified engineering firms for various professional consulting services; and

WHEREAS, on July 8, 2008 the Board adopted Resolution number 069598, authorizing an agreement with Crosby Group for on call structural engineering consulting services for a maximum amount of $300,000; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommend that the Board of Supervisors authorize the execution of an amendment to the agreement, which would increase the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by $300,000, to a new contract total of not to exceed $600,000 and extend the agreement term to June 30, 2012; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and agrees with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby determined and ordered that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the County of San Mateo, an amendment to the agreement with Crosby Group for “On Call” Structural Engineering services, increasing the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by $300,000, for a new total amount not to exceed $600,000 and extend the agreement term to June 30, 2012, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
