BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION: 1. APPROVING OFFICE STANDARDS FOR FUTURE COUNTY-WIDE PROJECTS INVOLVING SPACE ALLOCATION AND REALLOCATION; AND 2. APPOINTING THREE (3) BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SUBCOMMITTEES, ONE (1) EACH TO PROVIDE INPUT ON THE MASTER PLAN FOR THE FUTURE OF THE REDWOOD CITY, SAN MATEO AND TOWER ROAD COUNTY CAMPUSES.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 070359, authorized the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute and agreement with HELLMUTH, OBATA & KASSABAUM, INC (HOK) to provide Countywide space utilization and master planning services for the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, the Master Plan study finds that there are no formal guidelines and standards for the allocation of County work space; and

WHEREAS, lack of such guidelines has resulted inefficient space usage and inconsistent interdepartmental space utilization performance; and

WHEREAS, there is high cost associated with occupying space, moves and reconfigurations

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED, that :

1.

The recommended work place standards, as developed through the County of San Mateo Facility Master Planning process, are accepted and approved for future County-wide projects involving space allocation and reallocation; and

2.

IT IS HEREBY FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that three Board of Supervisors Subcommittees, consisting of two Supervisors each, will be appointed to assist with finalizing the Facilities Master Plan.
