BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE: A) COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT ALL AVAILABLE SOLID WASTE LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES FUNDS AS THE LEAD AGENCY FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES, RECYCLING AND RECOVERY EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2010 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2015; AND B) CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY APPLICATIONS, AGREEMENTS, AMENDMENTS, PAYMENT REQUESTS, AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO SECURE FUNDS TO IMPLEMENT THE APPROVED PROJECTS AND CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED IN THE APPLICATIONS EFFECTIVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2015

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, Public Resources Code sections 40000 et seq. authorize the Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly known as the California Integrated Waste Management Board, to administer various Grant Programs in furtherance of the State of California’s efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the State thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and

 

WHEREAS, in promoting this authority CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the application, awarding and management of the Grants; and

 

WHEREAS, procedures established by the State and CalRecycle require each applicant’s governing body to certify by Resolution its approval of the submittal of Grant Applications to CalRecycle; and

 

WHEREAS, if awarded, San Mateo County Health System will enter into a Grant Agreement with CalRecycle for implementation of said Grant.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Health System is authorized to apply for and accept all available Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agencies funds as the lead agency from the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery for which San Mateo County Health System is eligible for the period October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2015.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of the Health System or designee is authorized to execute all necessary applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and all documents necessary to secure funds to implement the approved projects and carry out the purposes specified in the applications effective until September 30, 2015.
