RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADMINISTERING FUNDING TO THE COUNTY TO PURCHASE BUS TICKETS AND BUS PASSES THROUGH THE LIFELINE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM (LTP), IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000; FOR THE TERM OF NOVEMBER 2, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2012, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on July 28, 2010, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) approved a grant in the amount of $200,000 for the County to participate in the Lifeline Transportation Program (LTP) which provides improved mobility for low-income residents, the grant will be administered through the San Mateo County Transit District; and

 

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Transit District issued a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to the County for the purpose of administering $200,000 for the term of November 2, 2010 through June 30, 2012, for the purchase of bus tickets and bus passes for low-income youth, families, and individuals participating in the self-sufficiency and family strengthening activities that include: employment seeking; employment workshops; skill based training programs; emergency and health related needs; parenting skills workshops; anger management classes; family counseling; and other self-sufficiency or family strengthening activities; and

 
 
 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented with a form of the MOU and has examined, and approved it as to both form and content, and, desires to enter into same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said MOU with the San Mateo County Transit District on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
