RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING
|
|
|
FAYE DAWDY
AS MILLBRAE
2010 WOMAN OF THE YEAR
|

|
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that FAYE DAWDY is being honored at Millbrae’s 2010 Millbrae Man & Woman of the Year Awards Dinner for outstanding voluntary service to the community; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, FAYE DAWDY has served as a past Board Member and Vice-Chair of the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce, was one of the founders of the Millbrae Farmers Market, past Co-Chair of the Millbrae Art and Wine Festival, member of the Millbrae Woman’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce and past Chair of the Miss Millbrae Pageant; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, as a member of the Millbrae Rotary Club, FAYE DAWDY was the co-founder of the Rotary Club Kids Carnival, Co-Chair of the Mills and Capuchino High School football luncheons, and traveled to Millbrae’s Sister City of La Serena as an interpreter and photo journalist, and helped raise money for the “Poor School Project”; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, FAYE DAWDY was one of the co-founders and past Presidents of the Millbrae Arts Association and has been honored by the Millbrae Arts Commission for her community service; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, FAYE DAWDY, with her husband Tom through their photography business, has donated their services to various non-profit organizations and continue to generously donate to numerous organizations, and FAYE DAWDY continues to be an active leader and participant in several community organizations, including Soroptimist International of Millbrae-San Bruno, Saint Dunstan Church, Samaritan House, Mills High School and Spring Valley School, Italian Catholic Federation, Saint Vincent de Paul, Strides for Life and others; and
|

|
|
WHEREAS, FAYE DAWDY selflessly works to help those in need and has been a valued and dedicated community volunteer in Millbrae and San Mateo County for decades.
|
|
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on this 8th day of October, two thousand and ten, hereby honors and commends FAYE DAWDY as Millbrae’s 2010 Woman of the Year for her outstanding volunteer service. The citizens of Millbrae and San Mateo County have greatly benefited from the efforts of FAYE DAWDY. The Board of Supervisors extends its heartfelt appreciation and congratulations.
