RECOMMENDATION:

Appoint David Lustig to the Pescadero Municipal Advisory Council (PMAC). David Lustig Is recommended to one of the two vacant downtown Pescadero positions, the term will expire on December 1st, 2014.

BACKGROUND:

The Board of Supervisors has the role of making appointments to fill seats opened through resignation or vacancy between election cycles. The opening on the Pescadero Advisory Council is for District 1, representing the downtown Pescadero area. This opening is the result of a lack of candidates for the recent election.

DISCUSSION:

The Pescadero Municipal Advisory Council (PMAC) conducted an informal search for residents interested in becoming members of PMAC. During this search, David Lustig expressed interest in filling a vacant seat that represents the downtown Pescadero area.

Mr. Lustig has attended many PMAC meetings and has become very familiar with the issues and concerns facing the Council. The Council is aware of his interest and have encouraged him to apply to be a Council member.

David Lustig is a retired business owner and local resident who is looking to get more involved in the community. He has served on other boards throughout his career such as the Esalen Institute Board of Trustees. Mr. Lustig would be a valuable new voice for the Pescadero Municipal Advisory Council.
