RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY

FOR TWENTY YEARS OF SERVICE TO

THE BURLINGAME COMMUNITY

WHEREAS, POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY began her law enforcement career with the California Highway Patrol as a Communications Operator in 1976 and served for seven years; and

   

WHEREAS, POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY joined the Burlingame Police Department in 1990 and has served our community with integrity, honor and an unwavering commitment to our citizens for twenty years; and

   

WHEREAS, POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY was responsible for answering incoming emergency calls from the general public for emergency services and dispatching assistance to help save the lives and property of our citizens; and

   

WHEREAS, POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY was a vital link to our police officers, monitoring their activities by radio, providing them information and insuring their safety; and

   

WHEREAS, POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY was recognized by the California State Assembly and the American Red Cross for her efforts to save the life of a woman who had threatened to commit suicide; and

   

WHEREAS, POLICE DISPATCHER LORI RILEY served as a Communications Training Officer providing trainees with the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively perform their duties, and has exhibited compassion and professionalism during the performance of her duties.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on November 8, 2010, hereby commends and honors DISPATCHER LORI RILEY for her 20 years of dedicated and professional law enforcement service, and wishes DISPATCHER LORI RILEY a healthy, happy and fulfilling life with her husband Steve and loved ones in her retirement.
