BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE HALF MOON BAY SURF GROUP, INC.  WHICH ALLOWS THE HALF MOON BAY SURF GROUP TO PARK VEHICLES AT THE HALF MOON BAY AIRPORT DURING THE ONE-DAY JAY AT MAVERICK’S BIG WAVE INVITATIONAL SURFING CONTEST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 25536 allows a county, by four-fifths (4/5ths) vote of its governing board, to enter into agreements to permit activities on land held by the county for airport purposes; and

 

WHEREAS, Half Moon Bay Surf Group, Inc. (Surf Group) has requested the use of an area at the Half Moon Bay Airport (Airport) to provide vehicle parking for spectators attending the one-day Jay at Maverick’s Big Wave Invitational Surfing Contest (Contest) between December 1, 2010 and April 15, 2011; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration and acceptance, an agreement which allows Surf Group to conduct vehicle parking activities at the Airport on the day of the Contest; and

 

WHEREAS, the agreement provides that Surf Group will pay the Airport Fund an amount of $7.50 or fifty percent (50%) of the amount charged (whichever is greater) for each vehicle parked at the Airport during the Contest, with a minimum fee of $2,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed and considered said agreement.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo with the Half Moon Bay Surf Group, Inc, which allows the Half Moon Bay Surf Group to park vehicles at the Half Moon Bay Airport during the one-day Jay at Maverick’s Big Wave Invitational Surfing Contest, and the signature of the Clerk of this Board shall attest thereto.
