RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
|
LEE BUFFINGTON FOR TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE AS TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR OF SAN MATEO COUNTY | ||||
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * | ||||
WHEREAS, after 25 years of service to the taxpayers of San Mateo County, LEE BUFFINGTON will be retiring on January 3, 2011; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LEE BUFFINGTON was appointed and took office as Treasurer-Tax Collector in October 1985, was elected in June 1986, and accepted the Department of Revenue Services to his title on July 1, 2006; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LEE BUFFINGTON has served as past president of the California Association of County Treasurers-Tax Collectors from 1993-1994, and as Ex Officio member of SamCERA’s Retirement Board; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LEE BUFFINGTON’s administration was built on integrity and years of dedicated, effective managerial experience, and during his tenure, in spite of budget cutbacks, his department achieved a level of performance that is known, respected and used as a model for both the public and private sector; and | ||||
WHEREAS, San Mateo County has benefited from the expertise and experience of LEE BUFFINGTON as he carried out his vision and goals to better serve the taxpayers of San Mateo County. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 3, 2011, hereby commends and honors LEE BUFFINGTON for his 25 years of dedicated service as Treasurer-Tax Collector, and wishes LEE BUFFINGTON much happiness with his family and friends in his retirement. | ||||
