RESOLUTION APPROVING SAN MATEO COUNTY’S FEDERAL FUNDING REQUESTS FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2012

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, San Mateo County is in need of funding to support a variety of programs that support the County’s Shared Vision 2025; and

WHEREAS, each year San Mateo County works with its Congressional delegation to secure federal funding (commonly referred to as earmarks) for specific projects; and

WHEREAS, the Board’s Legislative Committee, in consultation with County staff and its federal advocacy firm, has reviewed and recommended the following projects: Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Visitor Center, Replacement of San Bruno Stormwater Pump Stations, Mirada Road Costal Trail Segment, Half Moon Bay Library Improvement Project, Data Systems Improvements for Sex Offender Case Management, Safety Vests for San Mateo County Probation Officers, Correctional Health Services—Health Care Interpreter Network, Alcohol and Other Drugs Technical Infrastructure Upgrade, and the San Mateo County Ground Floor and 1B Remodel.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors does hereby approve of San Mateo County’s Federal funding requests for Federal Fiscal Year 2012.
