RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE A) COUNTY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT REGARDING TRANSFER OF UP TO A TOTAL MAXIMUM OF $11,314,800 OF PUBLIC FUNDS WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011; AND B) COUNTY MANAGER TO EXECUTE FUTURE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES.
RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
WHEREAS, Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM) and the County have entered into an Agreement whereby HPSM will reimburse the County for supplemental funding for medical care services provided to Medi-Cal recipients; and
WHEREAS, the County and the California Department of Health Care Services now wish to enter into the Agreement, whereby the County shall transfer funds to the California Department of Health Care Services up to a total maximum amount of $11,314,800 for the period of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 in order to fund a portion of the supplemental reimbursement to the County; and
WHEREAS, this Board considers and approves intergovernmental transfers in connection with adoption of the County’s annual budget and delegating authority to the County Manager to execute future intergovernmental transfer agreements between the County of San Mateo and the California Department of Health Care Services will allow for more expeditious processing of such agreements in the future; and
WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the:
A. County Manager be and is authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and
B. County Manager be authorized to execute future Intergovernmental Agreements between the County of San Mateo and the California Department of Health Care Services.
