THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

    COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

    RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

    TAMMY DEL BENE

    ***************************************

    WHEREAS, TAMMY DEL BENE has been named the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce’s 2010 Business Woman of the Year; and

 

    WHEREAS, TAMMY DEL BENE is a highly regarded business woman in the community and serves as Recycling Manager for Recology San Mateo County; and

 

    WHEREAS, TAMMY DEL BENE, in her position, has planned and directed a major recycling effort that resulted in recruiting participation in recyclables and organics collection service by an additional 1,000 businesses in Recology’s service area and she will be responsible for planning and directing a Recycling Department that will provide technical assistance to 10,000 businesses within the service area going forward; and

 

    WHEREAS, TAMMY DEL BENE has had a long-time passion for community service, having joined the San Bruno Beautification Task Force in 1998; co-chaired the citywide clean up, Operation Clean Sweep, from 1998 to 2009; co-chaired the Coats for Kids program from 2000 to 2009; and served as President of the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce for two years; and

 

    WHEREAS, TAMMY DEL BENE joined the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce in 2003 and continues her involvement in the community through the many events and programs supported by Recology, including the Redwood City 4th of July Parade, the Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee, the Redwood Shores Clean Sweep Program, the Docktown Cleanup, the Mayor’s Beautification Awards, the Fair Oaks Community Festival, the Redwood City Summer Concert Series, and the Redwood City Downtown Business Group Hometown Holiday Parade;

 

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby honors and commends TAMMY DEL BENE upon being named the 2010 Business Woman of the Year. On behalf of all citizens, the Board expresses its appreciation for TAMMY DEL BENE’s numerous contributions to the community.
