THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

    COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

    RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

    REBECCA ELLIOT

    UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES

    ***************************************

    WHEREAS, REBECCA ELLIOT has served the League of California Cities for nine years as Regional Area Manager for the Peninsula Division, a position that builds on her professional foundation of communicating with legislators and the media; and

 

    WHEREAS, REBECCA has worked with the thirty six cities from San Francisco to Gilroy on legislation and legislative advocacy, grassroots and community outreach, and with a broad range of community organizations throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara counties; and

 

    WHEREAS, REBECCA, prior to joining the League’s Grassroots Network, put her expertise in grassroots organization, public affairs and media relations to work for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors for five years as Public Affairs Director and Lobbyist, and actively participated in a wide variety of professional and public affiliations concerned with local and state issues; and

 

    WHEREAS, REBECCA has actively participated in a wide variety of professional and public affiliations concerned with local and state issues over the years; and

 

    WHEREAS, REBECCA developed her political experience through a political science internship with former Congressman and U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, and as a Magna Cum Laude graduate from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science;

 

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby honors and commends REBECCA ELLIOT for her many years of service to the community, legislative advocacy, and leadership supporting the Peninsula’s cities and residents. On behalf of all citizens, the Board expresses its appreciation for REBECCA ELLIOT’S numerous contributions and wishes sincere congratulations upon her retirement.
