BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE: A) HEALTH SYSTEM TO ACT ON BEHALF OF SAN MATEO COUNTY AND TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT ALL AVAILABLE WASTE TIRE RECYCLING, CLEANUP, AND ENFORCEMENT FUNDS FOR WHICH SAN MATEO COUNTY IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 2010 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2015; AND B) CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY APPLICATIONS, AGREEMENTS, AMENDMENTS, PAYMENT REQUESTS, AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO SECURE FUNDS TO IMPLEMENT THE APPROVED PROJECTS AND CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED IN THE APPLICATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR WHICH SAN MATEO COUNTY IS ELIGIBLE EFFECTIVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2015

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, Public Resources Code sections 40000 et seq. authorize the Dapartment of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly known as the California Integrated Waste Management Board, to administer various Grant Programs in furtherance of the State of California’s (State) efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the State thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and

 

WHEREAS, in promoting this authority CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the application, awarding and management of the Grants; and

 

WHEREAS, procedures established by the State and CalRecycle require each Applicant’s governing body to certify by resolution its approval of the submittal of a Grant Application[s] to CalRecycle; and

 

WHEREAS, if awarded, San Mateo County Health System is authorized to act on behalf of San Mateo County and to enter into a Grant Agreement with CalRecycle on behalf of the County of San Mateo for implementation of said Grant(s).

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Health System is authorized to apply for and accept all available Waste Tire Recycling, Cleanup, and Enforcement funds on behalf of San Mateo County for which San Mateo County is eligible for the period October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2015.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of the Health System or designee is authorized to execute all necessary applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and all documents necessary to secure funds to implement the approved projects and carry out the purposes specified in the applications on behalf of the County of San Mateo for which San Mateo County is eligible effective until September 30, 2015.
