RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF “YIELD HERE TO PEDESTRIANS” SIGNS AND MARKINGS IN ADVANCE OF A MIDBLOCK CROSSWALK ON ALPINE ROAD, LADERA AREA.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21351 et al. allows local authorities in their respective jurisdictions to install traffic signs as may be necessary to control traffic within an intersection; and

 

WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21950 directs drivers of vehicles to yield right-of-way to pedestrians in marked crosswalks and unmarked crosswalks at intersections; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that two “Yield Here to Pedestrians” signs and markings be installed as noted herein; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

1.

A “Yield Here to Pedestrians” sign and “Yield Line” marking designating where a driver shall yield to pedestrians within the crosswalk be installed at the following locations:

 
 

Alpine Road (County Road No. 75-B) Ladera Area

   

Across the northbound lane and two-way left turn lane on ALPINE ROAD, 30 feet south of the marked crosswalk at 3249 ALPINE ROAD.

 
 

Alpine Road (County Road No. 75-B), Ladera Area

   

Across the southbound lane and two-way left turn lane on ALPINE ROAD, 30 feet north of the marked crosswalk at 3249 ALPINE ROAD.

 

2.

The Department of Public Works is authorized and directed to remove and post any necessary signs and pavement markings in conjunction with this resolution.
