RECOMMENDATION:
|
Appoint Neil Merrilees as the Third District representative to the Parks Commission. His term will expire on December 31, 2014.

BACKGROUND:
|
The San Mateo County Parks Commission is a vital element of county government and the members are specifically representing the five districts of the county. Each is selected by the Supervisor who also represents that specific district.
|
|
|
DISCUSSION:
|
Neil Merrilees has been active in Coastside politics and is knowledgeable about a variety of issues specific to the San Mateo County coast. He has been a member of the Midcoast Community Council and is a well-respected leader in the community. He will bring a broad perspective to the Parks Commission
