RECOMMENDATION:
|
Re-appoint Arthur Lloyd to the San Mateo County Transit District Board representing the Transit Expert position to a term expiring on December 31, 2014.

BACKGROUND:
|
The San Mateo County Transit District Board, otherwise known as SamTrans, is made up of nine members consisting of representation from the Board of Supervisors; Public Members (including one from the Coast); Southern, Central, and Northern City Members; and, one Transit Expert. The term of the current Transit Expert has reached expiration.

DISCUSSION:
|
Arthur Lloyd has served as the Transit Expert for the SamTrans Board since 1988. Mr. Lloyd has, also, served as the Transit Expert for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, also known as CalTrain. He has had extensive experience in the transportation industry, including a 20-year career with Amtrak and as a member of many transportation-affiliated organizations.
