RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF “BEGIN RIGHT TURN LANE - YIELD TO BIKES” AND “RIGHT LANE MUST TURN RIGHT” SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF SANTA CRUZ AVENUE AND SAND HILL ROAD, WEST MENLO PARK AREA

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21351 et al. allows local authorities in their respective jurisdictions to install traffic signs as may be necessary to control traffic within an intersection; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that two “Begin Right Turn Lane - Yield to Bikes” signs and two “Right Lane Must Turn Right” signs be installed as noted herein; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

1.

“Begin Right Turn Lane - Yield to Bikes” signs be installed at the following locations:

 
 

Santa Cruz Avenue (County Road No. 70A), West Menlo Park Area

   

On the southwesterly side of SANTA CRUZ AVENUE, at a point 270 feet northwesterly of the intersection with SAND HILL ROAD, more or less.

 
 

Sand Hill Road (County Road No. 51B), West Menlo Park Area

   

On the southeasterly side of SAND HILL ROAD, at a point 415 feet southwesterly of the intersection with SANTA CRUZ AVENUE, more or less.

 

2.

“Right Lane Must Turn Right” signs be installed at the following locations:

 
 

Santa Cruz Avenue (County Road No. 70A), West Menlo Park Area

   

On the southwesterly side of SANTA CRUZ AVENUE, at a point 175 feet northwesterly of the intersection with SAND HILL ROAD, more or less.

 
 

Sand Hill Road (County Road No. 51B), West Menlo Park Area

   

On the southeasterly side of SAND HILL ROAD, at a point 240 feet southwesterly of the intersection with SANTA CRUZ AVENUE, more or less.

 

3.

The Department of Public Works is authorized and directed to remove and post any necessary signs and pavement markings.
