RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE THE FOURTH AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENTS WITH (1) CHILD CARE COORDINATING COUNCIL (4Cs) AND (2) PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (PACE), TO ADD THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (CDE) ALLOCATIONS FOR FY 2010-11, THE TERMS REMAIN THE SAME, JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011, INCREASING THE AMOUNTS BY $805,202; 4Cs WILL INCREASE BY $563,641 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $4,771,546 AND PACE WILL INCREASE BY $241,561 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF $2,044,950 FOR FY 2010-11, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo receives yearly allocations from the CDE to administer Stage 2 child care and child development services through the 4Cs and PACE who are the specified Contractors for such services; and

WHEREAS, on July 22, 2008, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 069583 waiving the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, authorizing the Stage 2 child care and child development services in the amount $2,850,000 for Fiscal Year 2008-09, and authorizing the Director of the Human Services Agency to execute subsequent amendments and minor modification not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 and to make minor changes in the types of services and activities provided under the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, the Agreements with 4Cs and PACE have been amended on three separate occasions by Resolutions 070322, 070854 and 070982 for the purpose of adding funding as allocated by CDE for FY 2009-10 and FY 2010-11 totaling $3,161,294 for a current obligation of $4,207,905 for 4Cs and $1,803,389 for PACE; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to further amend the Agreements to add additional funds as allocated by CDE for Stage 2 child care and child development services for Fiscal Year 2010-11, in the amount of $563,641 for 4Cs, and $241,561 for PACE for a total obligation of $4,771,546 for 4Cs and $2,044,950 for PACE; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Fourth Amendments to the Agreements and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Fourth Amendments for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
