BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS  1.  TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT OFFERED BY THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD TO BE USED FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THREE PILLAR POINT BLUFF PARCELS; AND 2.  OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH ACCEPTANCE OF $3 MILLION IN GRANT FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Peninsula Open Space Trust, a nonprofit land trust owns the three Pillar Point Bluff parcels (Assessor’s Parcels 037-300-010 Gunn; 037-300-080 Pillar Point Bluff; and 047-311-070 Pillar Point Bluff South) in fee interest, and is a willing seller; and

 

WHEREAS, the California Wildlife Conservation Board agrees to grant to the County of San Mateo the sum of $3 Million for the acquisition of the three Pillar Point Bluff parcels; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo desires to acquire the three parcels of the Pillar Point Bluff for the purposes of conserving natural landscapes, habitat for the protection of threatened and endangered species, and for compatible public uses, all that may be consistent with wildlife habitat preservation; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has managed and operated the Pillar Point Bluff parcels for habitat preservation and outdoor recreation for the Peninsula Open Space trust since November 2008.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors adopt a Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a grant agreement offered by the California Wildlife Conservation Board to be used for the acquisition of Pillar Point Bluff; and authorizing the Director of Public Works or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County any other documents associated with acceptance of $3 Million in grant funding from the California Wildlife Conservation Board.
