RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH STRATEGIC ENERGY INNOVATIONS (SEI) TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE HOME ENERGY RETROFIT OCCUPATIONS (HERO) PROGRAM. THE TERM IS NOW EXTENDED BY TWENTY (20) MONTHS FROM JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $45,000 TO $220,000 OF WHICH THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on November 30, 2010, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 071154 accepting a revenue grant from the Department of Labor (DOL) in the amount of $2,565,640 for HERO to implement energy efficiency workforce training and job placement for unemployed and incumbent workers; and

WHEREAS, on March 15, 2011, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 071308 to execute the Agreement with SEI for the amount of $175,000 to provide support for the HERO program; and

WHEREAS, SEI provides targeted online recruiting and screening tools, support employer development efforts and assist in curriculum development with the HERO program partners; and

WHEREAS, this Amendment will allow SEI to continue to assist with employer development outreach and support industry relations in partnership with other HERO partners and San Mateo County; and

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency wishes to enter into an Amendment to add $45,000 for a total obligation of $220,000 for the term of July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013 and;

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
