BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A) THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY OF ALAMEDA ON BEHALF OF ALAMEDA COUNTY WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD (ACWIB) TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE HOME ENERGY RETROFIT OCCUPATIONS (HERO) TRAINING PROGRAMS AND PARTNERS FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, IN THE AMOUNT OF $315,000, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST; AND B) THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Workforce Investment Board determined the need for retraining programs for unemployed and incumbent workers who qualify for services under the Workforce Investment Act; and

 

WHEREAS, on November 30, 2010 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 071154 accepting funding in the amount of $2,565,640 from the Department of Labor Home Energy Retrofit Occupations (HERO) grant for the term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013 to implement energy efficiency workforce training programs with job placement assistance; and

 

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency wishes to enter into an Agreement with ACWIB, a partner in the HERO grant, in the amount of $315,000 for the term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013 and;

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is being asked to authorize the Director of Human Services Agency or the Director’s Designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions so that services may continue if such amendments be required; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A. The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B. The Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee is hereby authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
