RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE PROPOSED SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR THE USE OF PARK AND COYOTE POINT MARINA FACILTIES, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board a proposed schedule of fees to be charged for the use of various services and facilities at San Mateo County Parks and Coyote Point Marina, to be effective July 1, 2011 (Park and Marina Fee Schedule); and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that said Park and Marina Fee Schedule be adopted by this Board; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission, an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors, reviewed the proposed changes to the Park and Marina fees at their June 2, 2011 regular meeting and unanimously recommended approval of these fee changes by the Board of Supervisors.

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs with the recommendations of the Director of Public Works; and

 

    NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors adopt the proposed schedule of fees for the use of Park and Coyote Point Marina facilities effective July 1, 2011, thereby approving these changes to the Park and Marina fees:

 
 

Park Fees

 

Revise the availability of half-price, off season rates for camping and picnicking to begin November 1st rather than the third Sunday in October;

   
 

Increase Vehicle Entry Fee from $5.00 to $6.00;

   
 

Increase Commercial and Filming Permit Fee from $640 to $850;

   
 

Increase Education Filming Permit Fee from $50 to $100

   
 

Increase Second Vehicle Entry Fee for family camping at Memorial Park from $8.00 to $10.00;

   
 

Increase Group Camping Fee for two 75 person sites at Memorial Park from $150 per night to $175 per night;

   
 

Increase Group Camping Fee for one 35 person site at Huddart Park from $135 to $150 per night;

   
 

Increase Group Camping Fee for two 50 person camping sites at Huddart Park from $150 to $175 per night;

   
 

Increase Horse Camping Fee for one 40 person and 40 horse site at Sam McDonald Park from $125 to $150 per night on weeknights and from $250 to $275 per night on weekends;

   
 

Increase Horse Camping Fee for two 9 person and 9 horse sites at Sam McDonald Park from $50 to $75 per night on weeknights and from $100 to $125 per night on weeknights;

   
 

Increase Memorial Park Family Camping Tent Site Fee from $25 to $30, Family Camping Small Trailer Site Fee from $30 to $35, and Family Camping Large Trailer Site Fee from $35 to $40;

   
 

Increase all Family Camping Off-season Camping Fees at Memorial Park from $21 to $25 per night;

   
 

Establish $6.00 Vehicle Entry Fee for group and youth camping at Memorial, Sam McDonald, and Huddart Parks;

   
 

Establish Conference Room Rental Fee for the Bill and Jean Lane Educational Center at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve for week days at $35 per day for governmental agencies, $50 per day for non-profit organizations, and $75 per day for private or for profit organizations and for weekends at $50 per day for governmental agencies, $105 for non-profit organizations, and $155 per day for private or for profit organizations; and

   
 

Establish a Planning Assistance Fee for customers seeking a scientific collection permit at $75 for up to two hours of staff time and after the initial two hours an additional $75 per hour for staff time to process the scientific collection permit.

   
 

Marina Fees

 

Increase Launch Ramp Fee from $3 to $5; and

   
 

Increase Guest Berthing Fee from $0.30 per linear foot to $0.50 per linear foot.
