THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

WHEREAS, REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA provides free repair services to low-income homeowners and cherished community facilities throughout San Mateo County; and
WHEREAS, REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA links skilled craftspeople with residents in need through partnerships and collaborations with government agencies, private businesses, civic organizations, churches, and community volunteers; and
WHEREAS, REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA’s collaborative approach leverages every $1 dollar donation into $5 dollars of economic benefit to local communities in San Mateo County; and
WHEREAS, with the help of 77,000 volunteers, REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA has performed repairs worth more than $32,000,000 dollars on 1,040 homes and 293 community facilities since its inception in 1989; and
WHEREAS, REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA’s programs rebuild communities, preserve affordable housing, and serve as a catalyst to promote civic engagement and pride in our communities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends and congratulates REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA upon being named the San Mateo County Central Labor Council’s 2011 C.O.P.E. Community Award Recipient.
