RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Charlene Clancy

Upon Her Retirement After

25 Years with the

San Mateo Medical Center

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Charlene Clancy’s career started in 1986 when she joined San Mateo County as a nurse manager in surgical services, when the San Mateo Medical Center was still known as Chope Community Hospital; and

   

WHEREAS, for a quarter-century, Charlene has provided high-quality health care to individuals and families of San Mateo County; additionally, she has contributed to the economic and professional well-being of the hospital itself; and

   

WHEREAS, as a founding member of Chope Champions, Charlene was directly involved in various fundraising projects to benefit the hospital; and she helped design and implement the first short-stay and endoscopy units, plus updates in the surgery department; and

   

WHEREAS, when not representing SMMC in negotiations with the California Nurses Association, Charlene can be found giving back to her community by mentoring emancipated foster youth; and

   

WHEREAS, Charlene has touched the lives of myriad people, while earning their respect, admiration and most importantly, their friendship.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Charlene Clancy upon her retirement after 25 years of dedicated service with the San Mateo Medical Center. The Board expresses its gratitude and extends to Charlene and her family sincere wishes for many more years of peace, great health and happiness.
