PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING AUGUST 9, 2011 AS

 

HeartSafe Program Day

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, the HEARTSAFE Program of the Sequoia Healthcare District is celebrating its fifth year of service to Central and Southern San Mateo County ; and

   

WHEREAS, the HEARTSAFE Program was developed to save the lives of those experiencing cardiac arrest; and

 

WHEREAS, the Sequoia Healthcare District has invested more than $1Million dollars in the HEARTSAFE Program; and

   

WHEREAS, the HEARTSAFE Program has placed more than 300 life-saving Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs, in public places in Central and Southern San Mateo County, as well as six Lucas Device and three Code Blue Towers; and

   

WHEREAS, the HEARTSAFE Program has trained thousands of residents and workers on the use of AEDs and in CPR; and

   

WHEREAS, the HEARTSAFE Program is proudly endorsed by our local police and fire departments.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County hereby designates August 9, 2011 as HEARTSAFE Program Day in San Mateo County.
